What is DAR?
The Patriotic Luncheon at Alioto’s Restaurant was well attended with 40 societies represented. Our own DAR had 3 chapters present; Annis Avery Hill, Mary Warrell Knight (West Allis) and Appleton. Plus 3 HODAR and the SAR Color Guard. We saw Rita again, an interpreter dressed as Mrs. Stephen Douglas. She dressed as Carrie Nation last year. You may recall Douglas from the Lincoln-Douglas debates. We also met Jeff, Lt. Col. with CAP – Madison, Civil Air Patrol. HODAR, Doug Turner won a book on Forts at the auction. He found Fort Winnebago with a nice article. Our ladies were Kimberly-Hurst Turner, Karen Greer, and Lisa Davis. Karen Greer was also photographed in the Descendents of the War of 1812. Our chapter advertisement was in the program. A good time was had by all!

The George Washington Lunch was well attended by Annis Avery Hill ladies which was held in Fond du Lac on March 1, 2026.
